ISTAT Critical

How do you all have your users satisfy acknowledgement of a critical result on the iSTAT? The glucometer we use requires a comment to be added- just wondering how to do this with the iSTAT.

We use RALS as a middleware and there is a comment set for critical values that will require an action code to be entered at the meter level. You may need to work with your middleware vendor to get it all set up.
We use the STATnote function in the DE configuration. We added Reported to, Time reported as result fields. These had to build in the STATnote config, RALS interface and EMR result fields to be able to enter info at the device level.
We do this by using the Interfaces --> Host Translations in Telcor. We designated a field to equal a device comment. So the operator enters "101" on the ISTAT in Field 1. When that gets to QML, that translates to Responsible Clinical Caregiver Notified. No good way to type in a name unfortunately. That comment goes with the results into Epic. If you have Telcor and need screenshots, let me know and I can email you!
Hi Miranda, can you please email it to me as well? my email is lbishai@memorialcare.org. Thanks
