HMS Plus, Medtronics

Our perfusionists are interested in implementing the HMS Plus. I have so many questions, but lets start with:

1. What analytes do you report in your EMR?
2. If you have a RALs connection, what challenges did you or do you face?
3. What has been your greatest compliance challenge?

Any and all information or guidance is really appreciated!

Mellissa,
I've emailed you screenshots.

We have had these instruments for over 20+ years.  When we got them installed back in the dinosaur age, they weren't interfaced.  We are going to be buying new instruments and will be interfacing them through Telcor.  The testing that the Perfusionists perform: high range ACT-K, Heparin Dose Response and Heparin Protamine Titration.  We have Red, Tan, Silver, Blue, Green and Purple cartridges for the HPT testing.  We will interface all of the tests.  Currently, it is recorded manually on a Perfusion form that is scanned into the patient chart.  The Perfusion Manager manually bills.  Can't wait to have an interface.  Our biggest struggle with Perfusion is getting them to do QC correctly.  Old lot vs new lot, monthly, etc.  They seem to not save enough supplies and then run into trouble when it fails and have none of the old lot left to repeat.
