Clinitek Status users- 'Insufficient Sample Errors"- what are you seeing

HI again all,
After using the Clinitek Status instruments in multiple locations for use, with a fairly good track record, we have started to see a dramatic increase in the number of times we are seeing the 'Insufficient Sample" error come across necessitating retesting and therefore increased consumption of the Clinitest cassettes.
I do know that when receiving this error in the past, I could associate it with an over filling of the cassette well with sample.
Have any other POCCs out there that have to monitor this instrument seen this error and what, if anything, were you able to associate this error to?
Thanks for any input you can provide.

Hi Melissa - when we start to see an increase in either "borderline" or "insufficient sample" errors, we clean the tray, the insert, and the whole arm (probably not the correct terminology, but I'm sure you know what I'm referring to). We were instructed to do this from tech support a couple of years ago, and to my surprise, it worked. You may give it a try!
I have the same issue but with the quality control. We are currently switching up manufacturers for our urine controls due to the number of errors we get on the "darker colored" control on the Clinitest hCG kit.
Cindy, is the cleaning you are performing, in addition to performing the weekly cleaning of the test table that is required by the manufacturer?
Kelsey, We use the Quantimetrix Urine hCG controls and do still receive the error but not as much if that helps.
