Istat cord ABG

I am in the process of validating the ref range for Cord ABG and VBG. ABBOTT IFU GIVES ME REFERENCE RANGES FOR ABG ART AND VENOUS only. My question is we don't get enough Cord samples to validate this so I am using reference ranges from my ABL 90. Can I do this. Thank you for your input.

The other cartridge types indicate capillary whole blood as being acceptable in addition to arterial and venous whole blood. None mentioned cord blood as an acceptable sample.

I called i-Stat and they told me that cord blood is considered whole blood which is a value sample for them.
