DCA Vantage errors

Happy Wednesday all!
Can you tell me on avg how many errors you get on your DCA a month?  We are still having issues with one of our units and their DCA so every time they get an error they let me know.   They have been avg about 3 errors a month and do almost 400 tests including QC.  I wanted to know what other sites are getting for errors.

Thanks in advance :)

hello Adonica, what kind of errors you are getting on DCAs?

Mostly 104 and 106 errors which are low total hgb errors or high hgb errors.

Hi Adonia, our recent problem continues to be 'not meeting the plus/minus 6% criteria to compare with the lab value' but no one has reported getting these 104 and 106 errors (across roughly 12 testing sites, at least 24 DCAs).
But I don't have any testing site going through 40 boxes a month!

we run almost 800 tests monthly (15 instruments), and rarely have a single error (104 or 106) per month. If you are using one instrument with 400 tests monthly, it is very busy and maybe required more PM. If you do all maintenance on time, your Optical test is good, cartridge compartment is clean and has no dust or debris, your air filter replaced quarterly (at least). Maybe take a closer look to the optical windows openings on the back of the cartridge compartment.

They have 3 instruments in 2 areas that make up our Endo department but its specifically the 1 area with the 2 instruments that's having the issue.  They have had 6 replacement instruments and are still having issues.  Even though <1% errors is not bad at all,  I personally think it's something with the cartridges or capillary but we can't prove that.  Peggy that comparing to the lab draw value is another bane lol.  It doesn't happen that often but when it does it's usually more than 6% also and that causes another round of discussions.  You know how it is when you're dealing with kids.

We have 15 devices across 10 locations, and I have not ever seen a 104 or 106 error.  Is it something that comes to RALS? or is it only displayed on their devices?
If on the devices only- I will reach out to my locations and ask if they have come across any of these errors.
Tilly

Thank you, that would be great!  I don't have RALS but the error doesn't come to QML.  It's on the instrument Error Event Log.  That's under System Test and Log.

I am also having quite a lot of 104 and 106 errors, I do not know the exact amount, I probably run over 300 per month. I do believe my error rate is higher than Adonica's 1%, probably closer to 2% to 4%. I have been working on this for close to a year, I have 6 DCA's, I have seen improvement on a few of the analyzers but seem to have problems with one particular area. I have worked over and over with Tech. Support. and the operators to ensure they know every detail of running the test and reasons for errors. I finally even received 4 brand new DCA meters, Tech Support says it is all operator error but why just now this year after using it for years and years. I also believe they are having some small manufacturing problems with the capillary's or cartridges! Am I missing some small detail?
