Lactate vs lactic testing and reporting

If we are using CG4+ blue cartridges to run lactates only but result them as lactic acid values is that acceptable? What is the order you all use or how does your lactate value look when resulting? Are these interchangeable? My concern is that we report them out to CAP as lactate so why would we report them to the EMR as lactic values?  I understand the chemistry of the two. They are basically the same, but Abbott has responded to my question saying their cartridges test for lactate not lactic acid.

Thank you!
