Electronic Temperature Monitoring Review

For those of you that have electronic temperature monitoring, how often are you documenting that it's been reviewed in the software?  Or are you documenting review at all?  We are CAP and I don't see a standard that addresses the frequency of review, only that it doesn't have to be done daily.

It is organization policy driven as this is the standard for Joint Commission organization “The laboratory monitors temperature-controlled spaces and equipment at frequencies established by the laboratory, using manufacturers' guidelines. The temperature is documented.”

We document an audit/review daily. This is very quick to do in electronic monitor web-based platforms so we decided it was better to check daily vs not. This will also ensure the technology is working as it should be and  staff are acknowledging alarms appropriately.

Because I have notification alarms sent to me via text and email for out of range and missed readings, I only document review once a month. The monthly report for each device is automatically emailed to me. I enter a comment on the PDF that it has been reviewed. If there were any events that occurred throughout the month, I document the notification date/time and what the follow up was. I have a really finicky temp/himidity monitor that regularly misses readings so when this happens, I will sign in to the system and document the temp/humidity in an excel spreadsheet. I save that sheet in my monthly reviews folder.

I'm the same as Tianna.  I review monthly and if I need to go into any out of range readings I can pull a secondary report for that time period that shows documentation of action and that the temp returned to normal.
