Training and Competency- Electronic signatures ok?

I want to move my POC training/Competency to a digital platform and am wondering if electronic signatures are ok with the State (I am in WA) or do we need actual handwritten signatures on this?

Hi Anastasia - I've handled WA State CLIA and CAP regulatory requirements electronically in the past (though not competency specifically), and never had an issue.  I believe the Federal E-Sign Act generally governs electronic signatures and lays out the requirements to make the equivalent to "wet" or handwritten signatures.

I always found our WA State inspector easy to get a hold of and quick to answer any questions, so if wanted to be completely sure, I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to your inspector.
