For those of you using the Nova Blood Glucose meter, what CPT code do you use? 82962 or 82947?

Follow the manufacturer's guidelines- their last (most recent) Customer Information Bulletin (CIB NO: 04-11SSG) regarding "StatStrip Billing and Coding for Glucose Testing Dated 17 Aug 11. It gives a lot of information on this. Go to their website and find this document. It specifically states that 82962 is incorrect. Also, get your billing/coding/financial experts to review this and coordinate with them, as it's a complicated process and it may not be fully in the laboratory's scope to decide which CPT applies.
Our billing team sets that all up. We use 82947.
