Albumin/Creatinine Ratio

Does anyone know of a waived Albumin/Creatinine Ratio test?  I have a site that is wanting to add this to their test menu.

The Abaxis Piccolo Xpress has a General Chemistry 13 panel that has creatinine and albumin. You could set up in your LIS to calculate the albumin/creatinine ratio.

To piggyback onto Lori's reply, Abaxis also has a waived Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) and a Renal Function Panel that contains both the creatinine and albumin. Ditto on the LIS executing the calculation.

That's a good idea.  Doesn't the Piccolo just test blood?  We're really looking for something for urine.

The DCA device by Siemens runs a Microalbumin/Creatinine Test but we only use the device for the HbA1c so I can't speak to how it does with the urine test.

Lori, I looked at that one.  It's moderate complexity.

The Clinitek Status performs Microalbumin and Creat and gives an Albumin/Creat ratio that is waived.

Our clinics used to result the Alb/creat ratio from the Clinitek, however, since it's only semi-quantitative it didn't meet the quality measures for the guidelines our health system needs to follow. We now send urine samples to the lab to get the ratio.
