Hi all,
Recently we have been seeing an increase in TCO2 failures for L3 QC (Lot# 321174) on our Chem8 cartridges. Has anyone noticed an increase in your TCO2 failures? This is unusual for us for TCO2 and I wanted to see if it was just us. We did put a call in to Abbott to let them know also.

Yes, I have noticed problems as well, I am glad you mentioned it. I am using Chem 8 Lot#H24305 and H24307. I use Eurotrol QC material and I was having problems with Level 1 and Level 2. I repeated them and recalculated my means but I did find that unusual due to the fact that I almost always have QC pass. I also had patients with more "***" errors for TCO2 and after looking at it just assumed it was operator error. I had 5 patients with "***" errors for Lot H24305 during a two day span with a total of 22 patients ran. That comes up as an error rate of 22%, I thought that maybe it was just one particular box of the Chem 8's. I will also call Abbott.
