Medtronic HMS+ Hepcon Instrument to Instrument Correlation

Hi Holly!  We have 2 Hepcons and we run the Hepline kit every 6 months to do linearity, instrument to instrument (HPT and ACT), and our alternative proficiency assessment.  Since we only have the 2 analyzers, we are able to use 1 kit between the analyzers (so same samples tested on each).

We have used the Hepline kit for ACT and HPT testing, but have also used patient correlations.  We use patients for the HDR also.  I have done this with using blue tops but also our Perfusionists have done it while in cases between the instruments.  I have also drawn lab volunteers with a butterfly with the Medtronic syringes attached and hand off to my coworker to run on the devices.  Email me and I will give you more info if you need it.  miranda.cotter@mercy.net
