Istat docking stations loosing connectivity

Happy Monday all!
We have been having an issue with our Istat docking stations loosing connectivity intermittently. We've seen the issue in multiple areas in our hospital and we've only really had the issue since our last CLEW update. We'll get an email from the unit that the Istat is not downloading, the lights are on in the back and it's connected to the correct network drop. When we go up and try to download (just to verify lol) it doesn't work and we have to unplug the power cord. When we reconnect the power it works. No other wires are touched.
Anyone else had an issue with downloaders recently?

Yes, we have had this issue. I was told by Abbott tech support that we needed to update our docking stations firmware which I did. Docks needed to be reset and I have set them to new static IPs and network team assigns a static IP to that docking stations MAC address. We haven't had problem since doing that.
We had this issue prior to the CLEW update, but not with all of our docks. It started with one department, then 2-3 other areas followed. In one department, one of their docks was fine while the other did not work. We did the exact same troubleshooting as Brian mentioned--I think the Network teams assigning the static IP was an integral part, because just resetting the docks did not work.
I'm glad you brought this issue up on this blog. I had just one in the ER that appeared to be working fine but it would not download the i-STAT. It would just indicate "Waiting to Send". I ruled out the i-STAT and the network. The downloader was the older outdated downloader, not the cradle, so no support from Abbott. I swapped out the bad downloader with one from lab, reconfigured it and it resolved the problem.
To add to the above, we have had issues similar to the above and found that if the dock was not used long enough the port would in effect be turned off within the network automatically. By unplugging the dock's power and plugging it back in, this would re-initialize the port and it would be begin working again. This was resolved by having I.T. set the port to "always ON".
- Another issue as mentioned above was by reserving the IP address of the Port/dock so that other systems wouldn't compete for the IP address it was using.
- Another issue was ensuring the dock wasn't behind any FireWalls.
I agree with everything Jeremy said. Most times, we find it is an issue within our own IT network, not the dock.
