I am new to the POCC position, and we are switching from sig elite to the GEM hemochron 100. Does anyone have a procedure already in place that you could share with me? If so I would greatly appreciate it. My email is sminor@selfregional.org.

I am not sure who you are directly working with from Werfen but they will supply you with a general plan, this will include what you are going to do for comparisons from your sig elite as well as simple precision etc. This is a Performance Verification plan that will be signed by you and the vendor. This will be the basis for your testing, they should provide you with these reports once the testing is complete. The vendor will come in and run so many tests on your GEMS but you will be responsible for your comparison plan (usually about 40 runs) comparing your sig. elite to the GEM. You can send the comparison information to the vendor and they will provide you with a report for this as well. You can get tons of helpful information from the CAP site, you will need a new device validation and review approval signed off from your MD before you can put the instrument in use. Sorry I cannot send you our actual procedure but I am happy to help with questions. Good luck
I've sent you a link to our procedure. I hope you find it helpful.
