TEG 6S Implementation

We are in the process of implementing the TEG 6S in our organization and we are slated to have two in the Laboratory and 1 in POC (for CVOR perfusionists to run). I was hopeful that I could look at what others have done in terms of procedure, interpretation guidance in TEG Manager, competencies, etc for those who have gone through this process before. This is a device that I am unfamiliar with and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance to anyone who is willing to share.

We are also planning on getting TEG for our lab and POC. I would also be interested in how others are managing. Thanks to all.
Lindsey, Jason I've sent you both an email with my TEG documents. Hope that helps.
- We also have one POC TEG in the CVOR and 2 in core lab.
We have a TEG6s in CVOR which is run by perfusion, and we have a TEG6s in the lab for post procedure patients. Everyone that requires TEG manager access to view and interpret results must first complete the cardiovascular surgery educational module on the College of TEG website. They must forward their certificate of completion to me, and I give them their TEG manager access and then add them to the list of staff that are vetted to order/interpret TEG testing. If they are not on that list, the lab techs will cancel TEG test. I also have my TEG rep come to the hospital to speak to the perfusion, anesthesia, clinicians, etc. to field any technical questions outside my realm of knowledge. Send me a message if you would like more information.
We have 3 TEG 6's run by our Perfusionists in CVOR that my POC Lab department oversees. Main Lab just implemented 4 in Hematology. I can email you procedure documents, IQCPs, validation, patient correlation forms, initial training and competencies - just send me what email to use. For TEG interps, we have a few things going for that. College of TEG website like mentioned above and then also we have the interpretation guidance turned on in TEG Manager. We also put guidance within our procedure as well as when we went live, the interpretation guidance wasn't available then. We allow clinicians to have access to TEG Manager to view results in real time, but the only users that have access to run tests are POC Lab and Perfusion for those instruments in CVOR.
If possible, we are also adding TEG 6S this calendar year. If you would be willing to share TEG documents, that would be terrific. Thanks so much
Sure Michelle and Lindsey -- I see where I can find your email address now so I will send items!
Miranda - Would you mind sending me your TEG6S documents as well? We are in the approval process for upgrading our TEGs and will hopefully have them by the end of the year. Thanks!
Hi Miranda - I am just now seeing this, and we too are in the process of implementing TEG 6s. Would you mind sharing your documents with us as well? My email address is CBlasick@kh.org.
