AVOX 1000E LQC not showing up in RALS

Hello Fellow POCC, has any had issues with the AVOX 100E not showing the LQC runs in RALS. The nurses say they have run the Liquid quality controls and do the manual input of the data in a binder but nothing will populate in RALS for a LJ chart or Results. Is there a way to go into the device and try to resend the data accross?

At our facility the instrument has to be connected to the network for the results (QC or patient's) to cross into RALS. We have found the hard way that results do not populate if someone has disconnected the power cord by mistake. Unfortunately, if it is not connected at the time of testing there is no way to retransmit results after the fact.

That makes sense. Is there a way to go back to make sure the LQC was actually ran on the instrument? Is it through the "Stored Data" menu?

I can resend data by going to the printer mode. Choose Print Stored Data Function. It will resend the last 100 sample results.

This has happened to us and we found it was one of two reasons: the blue Ethernet cord was unplugged, or they ran the QC in Patient Mode.  For the second reason, I was able to see the results but under Patient results in RALS. I put a comment/review note in RALS that it was QC.  For the first reason, I wasn't able to get the data in RALS once the cord was connected but you can print the data from the Avox.

If you have ruled out any network connection issues, it likely what Shaneece cited - the QC was run in patient mode.  Anytime a non-blood sample is introduced, the machine should prompt with "Is this liquid QC?"  If they decline that, or do not tag it with a QC lot number, it is processed as a patient sample with a blank ID and sends it that way to any downstream system.  In Telcor there is not a way to change the sample status to QC after it is received, but perhaps there is in RALS (other than just attaching a comment).

So I have gone to the device, the ethernet cable is connected to the RALS interface as far as I can tell. Oddly enough, Optical Filters go across. but that is all I see crossing for QC. The LQC is ran as a Liquid QC when I go into the stored data. When I do "Print" it doesn't send it across. Do people have an actual printer set up with their AVOX that auto prints results. If so, does it have dates. I can't seem to find dates associated with the LQC, I can just see the data that is reported, and compare it to the manual LQC reporting the staff does.

Hi Marisha,
Sounds like you've ruled everything out on the device end.  If it is showing in the stored data as LQC, then it should be sent through the interface with that status.  This sounds like perhaps a RALS limitation, where it does not admit/process LQC, only EQC (filters).  Have you reached out to your RALS contact?  It may be a known glitch.  We use Telcor for middleware at our health system and it can process both EQC and LQC separately, as different file types.
If you purchase a splitter cable, you can connect the output from your AVOX to both the ethernet cable and a small printer, though the splitter cables can be hard to find.

That is my next step. It is odd because sometimes the LQC does come across. This time nothing. Thank you all for your input.

it *sometimes* comes across as LQC or as a patient?  If it's coming over only sometimes with LQC status, that would suggest that the staff aren't consistently marking it as such.  I know that is a problem at many institutions.  It was *never* coming across with LQC status, I would be more suspicious that processing it as LQC was a limitation on the RALS side.
