To my NYS friends:
Does anyone hire POC staff with their BS in chemistry/biology and not credentialed as laboratory technologists. If so, what POC activities can they perform? What can't they perform?
We are struggling to hire POC technologists at my hospital, and as such are looking for solutions outside of the traditional box.
Thank you all in advance!

The main issue I can think of right away is not having two years of experience on the testing systems to qualify as a Technical Consultant (CLIA personnel qualifications section) to perform competency assessment for non-waived testing.
