DE customization for i-STAT

Hi,
I am trying to get a poll for all those who use i-STATs in your hospital systems. Who manages your De customization, The POC staff or the IT (LIS) staff?

We use ISTAT for and I manage the DE.

We have ISTATS. POCC are in charge of the DE.

POCC's are responsible of managing the DE within QML. The only thing our IT/BioMed departments do is get the docks set up in the network. We are not able to perform that task because of network security.

POCC's are responsible here too.

Good morning,

Have a good one

POC manages the DE, and IT manages the servers behind the scenes.  POC works with RALS (an Abbott product) to troubleshoot DE customization.

POCC's are responsible, but IT sets up the docking stations due to security reasons.

At my institution, I enter an IT request to add the dock's MAC address. They assign an IP, and my group must do the rest.

POC manages and runs DE. Our LIS guy sets up in the dock and handhelds. He sets them up on a DHCP server so that we can move them around the network as needed (so if an off site location needs one and we have some we removed from somewhere else they are compatible everywhere). We have 5 hospitals and 12 off site that use them. And we have had a couple units within the hospital ask for them so we don't have to reconfigure anything on the devices and docks. As for the other equipment we have them set up on servers that all we need to do is add that IP for DHCP into the device and POC can set them up ourselves like the Nova and Hemochrons. The only reason I don't set up the I-Stats is that it requires admin level privileges on the computer used to set them up.

POC manages DE. But when adding a net new base that's where IM security comes in due to the security.

POC handles most all of RALS.  We manage DE and set up new downloaders--they are on static IP, so not plug and play like a NOVA meter. We put in a ticket for the IP based on where it is going in our system, give them the MAC to install into ISE (security table) and then program ourselves.  It is important for you to be able to control DE so that you can customize units differently if needed, install new CLEW and change customizable reference ranges-based on your AMR.

POC manages the DE. I can't imagine having to rely on IT for configuration changes and SW updates. For new iSTAT downloaders, similar to Kim's process, IT is needed to request a static IP or reserved DHCP, give them the MAC address and then we can get in and configure ourselves.

The POCCs manage the DE here.
