i-STAT hs-TnI Patient correlations

Hello POC community!
For those validating the new high sensitivity TnI test cartridge, what analyzer/s are you using for patient correlations?
We have a Roche Cobas 8000 in main lab, but that is a troponin T test, and the i-STAT cartridge is troponin I.
Abbott is telling us that cannot utilize this ("comparing apples to oranges") and do not need patients - use calibrations and QC to validate.
Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions?

Hi, We just completed our hs-Trop validation on the i-Stat vs. Cobas T. Our Medical Director approved doing a concordance study between the two methods. Basically, comparing Abnormal hs-i to Abnormal hs-T and Normal to Normal likewise, using M and F cutoffs for each. i-stat will only be used in the ED and a baseline will be sent to the Core lab for T.
Thanks Mary!
