Hello,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone is currently utilizing the ALFA WASSERMAN ACE AXCEL chemistry analyzer and would be willing to share insights or documentation.
We recently acquired the instrument, and I am in the process of validation with training scheduled to begin shortly. I would greatly appreciate any operational tips, implementation advice, or challenges you may have encountered. If you are open to sharing, I’m also looking to review a copy of your SOP or any relevant materials that could support our onboarding process.
Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
Best regards,
Kyle Gray

We are using the Ace Axcel in our freestanding ED/UC. Because we're using it in a POCT situation, we have had some issues. Our devices are connected to Telcor as a middleware, and they had a unidirectional interface, we started small. We use it only for lipase and magnesium, which cannot be done on POCT devices currently on the market. Telcor has built us an app that will allow bidirectional connectivity, and once we get that implemented, we will also do BMP on the device. Since it isn't strictly a POCT device, our operators have had to change workflow a bit. All of our other POCT devices that do blood testing use whole blood, and the Ace Axcel requires plasma or serum. So the operators have to spin down specimens and that is new for them. There is also no QC or operator lock-out, and QC needs to be done daily. The maintenance is also more than on our other POCT devices. However, we will also be able to add other tests to the menu, next up will be phosphorus and CRP. These sites are really busy, doing 15,000-20,000 POC tests per month at each of 4 sites, . The clinicians are happy that we can add testing, particularly lipase which has been a send-out test. The company has been amazing helping us get the device validated and doing training. We had been using a cartridge-based system for BMP, so this device will save money as well. I'm happy to answer any specific questions you may have about our experience with the device, you can email me at kathleen.david@tricore.org. Good luck!
