Hemochron Signature Elite APTT-C Proficiency Testing

Good morning everyone,

For those of you who utilize the Hemochron Signature Elite APTT-C, who do you subscribe to for proficiency testing? Last I checked CAP didn't offer any surveys, and we are not pleased with the API surveys so far. Since our renewal is coming up within the next few months, I wanted to explore any other potential options. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly in advance!

I have not been able to find another proficiency test provider for this test. Are you still having issues with your PT?

Good morning all,

I am reaching out again to see if anyone using the Hemochron Signature Elite APTT-C assay has found a reliable proficiency testing (PT) program for this test.

We currently participate in the American Proficiency Institute (API) program but have not been satisfied with its performance. While API has taken steps to address peer consensus issues within the Whole Blood peer group, these concerns continue to persist.

About a year ago, I contacted both CAP and WSLH regarding PT options for this assay and was informed that neither offered a program for the Hemochron Signature Elite APTT-C. I recently followed up again. CAP confirmed that they still do not offer PT for this assay and currently have no plans to add it in the future. I am still awaiting a response from WSLH.

Any recommendations, experiences, or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Edited to add: I've also reached out to the manufacturer, Werfen. Awaiting their response.

I have not been able to find another proficiency test provider for this either. Our accreditation agency gave us a list of all of the proficiency test providers in existence but none of them offer testing for this besides API. If anyone else has additional info, please share!
