Blood Lead Testing in Michigan Pediatrics Clinics

What are Pediatric Clinics in the state of Michigan using to perform blood lead testing? Is it being performed Point of Care or being sent to the laboratory. The mandate now requires children at 12 and 24 months to be tested for lead.
Thank you!

Good Morning!
Feel free to reach out to me for more information on POC lead testing.

We use the one POC device CLIA waived for lead testing SCREENING at our pediatric offices. There is a cut off value, that if met or exceeded, then a venipuncture is sent to our main laboratory. Our system uses a reference lab for confirmation testing.

Hope that helps!
Feel free to reach out to me if needed.
