RALS to Epic Beaker

We are currently using RALS to Sunquest and will be moving to Epic Beaker. Anyone make this move and have any issues?  We are just starting the Epic prework and not sure if Beaker will change any of our processes.
Thanks

We are currently in the same process. The main issue we have encountered is that only a unidirectional interface is available in Beaker.
At present, we have a bidirectional interface configured between RALS and SOFTLAB (LIS). With this bidirectional setup, RALS receives the specimen accession number after results are posted to the LIS, which is extremely helpful for POC staff when correlating tests between RALS and Beaker.
Unfortunately, this bidirectional functionality is not available in Beaker, and the specimen accession number is not sent back to RALS. This makes test correlation very challenging, particularly when multiple tests are performed for the same patient within a short time frame (e.g., within one hour). We also have issue about Test is uploaded complete in RALS and actuarily it is not post in Beaker.

Does anyone have a bidirectional interface configured between Beaker and DMS (POC)? Any related information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Danni, we definitely use the accession number coming back to RALS from SQ for many things, so that will be any issue if we can't get it with Beaker!!  Wondering if anyone has figured it out?

We went live with EPIC Beaker in November and we use Telcor as our middleware.  EPIC does not send accession number back to Telcor and I am still getting used to it.  The easiest way for test correlation would be to utilize the reports in EPICs SlicerDicer if you have access to it, I'm still working on building ours. We have also found results errored in the EPIC interface and the Beaker team is the only one with access to see this. This makes it tougher to know when the interfaces are down or there are issues.

I am not sure if this information will help anyone. I am not real technical on how all the logistics work (I depend on my IS department quite a bit). I use RALs to EPIC, I do have both solicited and unsolicited tests. I believe RALs knows who my patients are is by the ADT feeds that it receives and most of my tests are using the CSN from EPIC. I only have one test on the iSTAT in which it uses a CID from Beaker. We have two other interfaces in between as well and maybe those are adding information and helping facilitate the process. We use Rhapsody and Corepoint as well. RALs--->Corepoint--->Rhapsody--->EPIC.
