Capillary tubes

Hi All,

We are in the beginning stages of putting an i-Stat in our nursery for blood gases.  What brand of capillary tube does everyone use for i-Stat testing?

Hello,
Jut an FYI that the EG6, EG7 an CG8 cartridges are not FDA cleared for K and iCa in capillary whole blood specimens.

Hi Roxanne,

They will be using the G3 cartridge.

Our NICU uses Sarstedt Minivette® POCT Lithium heparin, 100 µl.

Hi Erin,
We use RNA CT 220 Blood Collection Tubes.  You can get end caps also if they have to send a sample to the lab.

Our region uses Ram Scientific Safe-T-Fill balanced heparin tubes, MFR#060185.

We use Radiometer SafeClinitubes, Ref. # 942-897

We used the Ram Scientific Safe T Fil, until it was discontinued.  John, what product are you moving to?  We went with RNA Medical Safewrap, but had staff complaints it was clunky and brought in Siemens MultiCap-S, so far no complaints on that one.

Thanks for that information Max!

We may move to the Sarstedt Minivette POCT (REF 17.2112.101).
