pH AMR verification

In keeping with CAP regulations (POC.08500 Note), we have a provision in our AMR verification policy that the results must be within 10% of the upper AMR limit and within 50% of the lower AMR limit.  Using percent closeness seems really awkward for pH though since it is reported on a logarithmic scale.  How do you all manage pH AMR verification?

Hello Angie,

What test are you looking at?
What is the range that is most meaningful for the provider for the test you are specifying?

Just a note: I don't believe you have to do AMR for qualitative tests if it is qualitative.

Hi Jo - this is for an i-Stat pH, so unfortunately not qualitative.  Because the pH is used in the calculation of other values, we are interested in having the range be as broad as possible without having to purchase additional test reagents (we use the Abbott Tricontrol Cal Ver).
