Is anyone using point of care beta-hydroxybutyrate tests for assessing DKA? What are you using and can you provide your experience with it, lessons learned, verifications performed, etc., we are just in the beginning stages of being asked about this test in our  freestanding emergency departments. Thanks so much in advance!

We used the abbott precision xtra bhb in the past (easy to use) but moved testing to our bench analyzer due to high strip cost and the need to QC each box of test strips.

We started using the EKF STAT-Site WB Ketone meter. It is easy to use - the only complaint I have from care teams is that it requires QC weekly.
