Abbott iSTAT ACT QC & PT/INR QC a major shortage

We just found out that Abbott is struggling with allocating ACT QC and PT/INR QC.   We ordered this QC 4 weeks and still have not received any QC Products as of today.      This is Abbott QC.     What are other POC folks using besides the Abbott ACT & PT/INR QC Material.

I am also curious what others are doing. I'm hoping our very small supply will get us through this timeframe. I was last told they should have their new manufacturer validated by mid-April.

I'm having the same issues. I'm also interested to know if anyone is using anything else.

Eurotrol has CueSee Coag which is compatible with both these cartridges.

We were told a backorder until around 3/30, so a bit different than what Joy was told.

Yesterday, we were told by our Abbott POC rep that ACT QC would start to ship in three weeks (so 4/15) but will be on allocation. We have enough supply to get us through 3 weeks, but not much longer than that. So I'm crossing my fingers that they really do start to ship 4/15 and that we receive a box or two shortly after.

How often are you all performing QC on your ACT cartridges? Just trying to see if I need to perform another risk assessment and revise our IQCP for a longer timeframe in-between QCing to make our supply last even longer. Currently we are doing every new lot/new shipment and every 30 days of cartridge lot still in use.

Thank you for that suggestion, Tessa! I will start looking into that alternative QC material.

We also QC every new lot/new shipment and every 30 days of cartridge lot still in use. Thank you Tessa, it looks like we have another option.

I am no longer with Eurotrol but very familiar with those controls! There is a lot of information on the website to help you get started with your research.

We perform QC on all of our i-STAT cartridges once a month, with each shipment and each new lot number.
I have ordered Eurotrol CueSee controls.
I was told by a rep that the company that made the Abbott ACT controls went bankrupt and closed their doors. This puts us all in a very bad spot.
