Replacement Procedure for Quidel's Rapid Strep on the Sofia 2

Like many of you, we have been notified by Quidel that their Rapid Strep kit for the Sofia 2 will not be available for some time.....no target date provided.
As we look for a "temporary" replacement, it looks like we may need to go back to a manually reported kit that we used several years ago prior to our implementation of EPIC and RALS. All of our POCT is waived, and we want to remain so. Training over 700 operators and waiting for a build in EPIC seems like a huge task for what may be a temporary solution. How are others dealing with this?

We are going back to the manual Strep A kit from Henry Schein until they come back in stock. I heard it will be April with back orders going into May. Did you hear that it would be longer?
I really haven't heard when they will be back in stock. I heard that Quidel has solved the issue with their production facility, but that it will be "a while" until production levels are back to normal.
