Replacement Procedure for Quidel's Rapid Strep on the Sofia 2

We are going back to the manual Strep A kit from Henry Schein until they come back in stock. I heard it will be April with back orders going into May. Did you hear that it would be longer?

I really haven't heard when they will be back in stock.  I heard that Quidel has solved the issue with their production facility, but that it will be "a while" until production levels are back to normal.

We do use the Sofia, so I'm happy to have read about it here, since I haven't heard anything from Quidel-what a surprise! We also were using the InLine strep kit from Quidel, and have been told that it is also backordered, so have gone WAY back to the "mixing reagents, place the swab in and swish, then add the strip to read" with the earlier kit. It's a hassle to have to retrain, write a new, temporary procedure, etc. Fortunately our manual entry doesn't specify the methodology, so we didn't ahve to change there. For the InLine kit, we also didn't hear the timeline. 
Well, I guess it's job security!
