Point of Care Testing Training and Competency Policy

This is actually a good question and I would be interested in knowing how many systems out there create separate policies just for POCT training and competency. At our location, we have added training and competency sections to all of our POCT policies. Meaning our Nova Glucose has a section for it, our hsTnI on the iSTAT has a section, same with the ACTk on iSTAT, CG8+, CG4+, and Chem8+, the epoc policy, and so on and so forth.

I have asked about creating one generalized policy but I've been told it might be too much for nursing to then have to go to ANOTHER policy for that information so I have not pursued it yet, I also don't have the time to do it. I just feel like our policies and procedures get really long and repetitive when we add it on there.
