Driver Availability (through RALS) for Refreshed CoaguChek XS Plus Meter

Like many of you, we are awaiting RALS engineering department to complete the driver application for the Refreshed CoaguChek XS Plus meter.
A rather disturbing fact we learned today is that Roche is replacing non-functional CoaguChek SX Plus meters exclusively with the Refreshed model.
So, for each non-functional meter we return, we receive a meter that we cannot currently use with RALS.
How are others dealing with this?
Thanks!

Panic and dismay. That's how we were dealing with it.

We are a QML shop and are in the same boat as the RALS folks. We are awaiting the release of a new driver. We did volunteer to beta test the driver thinking that we might be helping the process move forward. I might be kidding myself, but it does make me feel better.   :)

You may find solace knowing that all current customers are in the same boat, though, it does nothing to prevent any of us from 'drowning', we'll at least have great company :)

I normally have more helpful tips to share, but I am afraid not on this issue.  Feel free to continue to share your frustrations and know that you are safe to vent them my way, I am a good listener.
(jmumfor3@jhmi.edu) Here is my work email if you'd prefer to share them a bit more privately.

I will be honest, I did not fully understand the letter they sent out. We have both the XS Pro and the Plus without our facilities and we also use RALs. Is the driver an update to the docking station or to the meter? I would appreciate any extra information anyone may have!

I'm very upset with Roche about the refreshed meters.  Yes, the ability to scan is quite frankly awesome, but they are sending out meters which they knew Rals wasn't going to be compatible with (yet) AND took away the option of users being able to acquire loaner meters in the meantime.  Luckily, our Anti-Coagulation Clinic had 3 meters, so we still have 2 to run and a bright shiny one we can't.  We are okay for now but won't be if one of the remaining older meters dies.  We currently send a lab draw for all INRs >4.0.  I guess if Rals doesn't come out with an updated, compatible version by then, we may need to draw all their patients to send to the main lab.  The volume would be between 20-25 patients a day, M-F. This would not be an ideal situation for the Clinic, their patients, or the lab.
Amanda - the updated driver is for Rals to be compatible with the new functionalities of the refreshed meters.

Like Jeanne, we also use Telcor, and Roche didn't let them know about the new driver either. I don't understand the rush for this. We need all the meters we have to serve our coumadin clinics, and half of them will be replaced with the new meters as part of the latest contract. What were they thinking?? Shame on you, Roche!
