Abbott Afinion 2 issues after RALS upgrade.

We recently upgraded RALS to 8.6.1 and within a few days started receiving calls that the Afinion 2 devices were "frozen". Upon further investigation, we are seeing that they are completely frozen, but the patient test, qc test, and power button lose functionality, door won't open. You can still log in and tap around to the other screens and even make changes to the config. To fix this we have to pull the power cord to do a hard reboot of the instrument. Then within 24-48 hours it falls back into that same nonfunctioning state. When this happens, the device stops pinging into RALS. We have looked at the messages in RALS, there are no events or abnormalities in the messages leading up to the issue.
Also, tech support for the Abbott/Afinion side is absolutely horrible. They keep sending us replacements - which have the same issue after we connect them to RALS.
Has anyone had their instruments exhibit this behavior?

One idea for troubleshooting - what is the current software version on the instruments? They updated to 21.15 last November. If you haven't already, maybe updating could help with the freezing issue.
