Abbott FreeStyle and Lantronix boxes

We currently have many Abbott FreeStyle glucose meters throughout our system and they are all connected to lantronix boxes. It has been set up this way since we started using the analyzers over a decade ago. As time has gone on, our IT department has stopped supporting us in programing our lantronix boxes and we would like to no longer use them. I have seen other facilities that do not use them. When I reached out to Abbott, they said that I have to use them because I use Telcor QML. They said UniPoc and RALs have software that would allow the FreeStyle to connect without the lantronix box. This doesn't make sense to me. Are any of you using the FreeStyle without a lantronix box? What middleware do you use? If you have Telcor QML, how did you do it?

Never mind. I just called Telcor, which I should have done from the beginning. It is true :(
This....is interesting, to say the least. Are we simply talking about wireless uploading? We are a large health system that has that, with Telcor, for thousands of Freestyle Pro devices. If not wireless, there has to be some other way of connecting to your network. The only other way is via a PC, which I do know Telcor does not support. But there is still setup required, as well as the need for a physical docking station. I don't know that I would consider that easier than connecting via a Lantronix.
Interesting... My middleware is UniPOC and we use lantronix boxes. When we moved from PWeb to UniPoc ~3 years ago, it was never mentioned by the installation team that we could move away from using lantronix boxes.
Interesting. . . we use lantronix boxes with UniPOC and if we can get rid of them I would be so happy. In the six months I've been in my role, random IT updates or changes create headaches with them pretty regularly. We have some sites that don't have the best wireless, so the docking stations are still necessary to some degree.
We use the Abbott Freestyle Precision Pro meters connected wirelessly with UniPOC. I've never heard of a Lantronix box. We do keep a few functional docking stations on site for troubleshooting and meter setup (installing the wireless software) but have not needed to use them outside of that. The wireless works decently enough for our purposes. My main concern with our meters is tracking their location- we are not able to ping them or track them in any way so without the need for docking, they tend to get misplaced or end up in laundry heaven.
