Venous Blood Gas Worklfow

Hi there!
Just curious who collects and runs venous blood gases at your facility, if anyone is willing to share.
At my facility, respiratory therapy runs them on the i-STAT, but they do not collect venous samples. They have to call phlebotomy to the patient's room to draw the venous sample for them.
This process seems odd to me, and I am looking at ways to improve this workflow. I would love to hear how other facilities handle this. Thanks!

The RT's draw all samples that they run here, arterial, venous, capillary.
