Technical Consultant- moderately complex testing

Question: Now that some time has passed since implementation, How is everyone handling the Technical Consultant situation?
Is transcript review an option at your location?
Does the POC cover the moderately complex competencies?
How often do training sessions happen, and with how many in attendance?
How do you handle the sign-in process?
How about training the overnight staff?
Many of our grandfathered TCs have retired, and it is time for my institution to pivot. Thanks in advance for the information/advice

1. Transcript review is very difficult at my location, especially outside of the laboratory.
2. At this moment, I am the only one who is covering the complex competencies to make sure we are meeting the requirement. Once I am able to actually look at the floor staff and see who my best candidates will be, that is when I can work with them for transcript review/license review and recommended them for the TC designation to my medical director.
3. Right now, we are implementing new POCT, so for the moderate, I am doing daily 3-hour blocks of training. Then will do the required intervals after that.
4. What do you mean by sign-in process? Sign-in for the devices - would be badge scanning controlled by Telcor. So if the user is outside their competency window, they are not able to scan their own badge. If you mean sign-in for the training, I use their training documents and then have a spreadsheet that shows the day the completed the training, and when their next competency is due. Since the training documents require the users signature, I have that information readily available.
5. I work 0600-1500 Monday through Friday, and the night shift ends at 0700, so they are either coming to me in the lab or I go to the floors after shift handoff.
