Newborn Assessment

In our nursing newborn assessment protocol, nurses check for the presence of an opening at the base of the spine or anywhere along the spine of newborns. If an opening is noted, they check for drainage, and if noted, they would like a
POCT way to check the fluid for glucose. Does anyone do this or know what methods are available?
Thanks,

There are no POCT devices approved for use with CSF that I am aware of.
