Provider performed testing and Epic

We are struggling with how our providers are resulting some point of care tests.  Fecal occult blood testing in ED, PPMP and Urine dipstick testing in an ambulatory office.   Most want to result within their note.  This creates a few issues.  1. Notes aren't auditable.  We cant trace back to a kit lot/QC.  2.  Results in notes do not appear on the lab tab in Epic so they are not easy for other clinicians to find.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?  Were you able to get your providers to use Enter/Edit results?  Did you force them to use a patient log?

What tactics did you use to convince them?

Yvonne,

We have the same issue. We will be switching to Epic/Beaker in another year or so.

Did you ever resolve this issue? If so, how?

Thank you

We presented our standards to one group of physicians and are hoping for the best.
